Larimer County Sheriff Warns of Possible Inspection Scams (#HighParkFire)

Information from the Larimer County Sheriff Office

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has received reports of individuals seeking to charge High Park Fire victims fees of up to $700 to verify whether or not their structure(s) were damaged by the fire.  It is not known if these solicitors are offering legitimate building inspection services, or if they are attempting some type of fraud.

The Sheriff's Office wants to remind citizens that county officials are in the process of making these property assessments and that the information is available free of charge.  Furthermore, most owners of the properties known to be damaged have already been notified.

The official source for structure verification in the High Park Fire zone is Larimer County.  Property owners are encouraged to call the Structure Verification Line at (970) 619-4086 to verify the condition of their properties.  This phone line is staffed Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
