Boulder and Larimer counties will now have additional Public Assistance for permanent repair and replacement of disaster-damaged infrastructure. The counties were previously designated for Public Assistance covering Categories A and B; debris removal and emergency protective measures.

The added Public Assistance designation for Boulder and Larimer counties covers Categories C through G, which includes more permanent work on infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, public buildings and contents, as well as water facilities, public utilities and parks.

Public Assistance is cost sharing help with FEMA paying 75 percent of repair costs.

The president issued a major disaster declaration on September 14, 2013 for the state of Colorado. This triggered the release of federal funds to help individuals and communities recover from the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides that occurred from September 11 and continuing.

Public Assistance Preliminary Damage Assessments are now ongoing in other counties.
