State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) Status Level 2

The SEOC at Level 2. Cold Weather Operations: SEOC Activation

The SEOC is activated Wednesday, December 21 through Friday, December 23 to support cold weather operations and resource requests related to the winter storm this week.  On December 20, Governor Polis verbally authorized the activation of over 100 Colorado National Guard members to support extreme cold weather operations across Colorado as the state prepares to face extreme and record-low temperatures and wind. The verbal declaration activates the Colorado State Emergency Operations Center and the State Emergency Operations Plan and directs the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to take all necessary and appropriate State actions to assist the affected jurisdictions with their response, recovery, and mitigation efforts. This also allows the OEM to mobilize state resources, and make contracts and awards using Emergency Procurement Procedures.

Map: Warming Shelters, Shelters and Activated EOCs
This public information map is available to show the location of warming centers and shelters for the public during the storm. The map will be updated as the SEOC confirms new locations.
