State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) Status Level 3

The SEOC at Level 3. SEOC continues to support of the following: public health support, Marshall Fire recovery and supporting Colorado Springs following the Club Q shooting. SEOC is operational Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Shooting at Club Q

On November 20, 2022, five people were killed and 25 others are injured. The shooting took place at Club Q in Colorado Springs (3430 North Academy).

City Warns of Phone Scam Claiming to Assist Landslide Impacted Residents

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-- The City of Colorado Springs has been made aware of a phone scam targeting people in areas known to be impacted by recent landslide activity. The caller claims to be from a government organization offering “secure grant loans”. The caller ID identifies the number as being “unknown”; however the phone calls do not appear to be legitimate and did not originate from the City of Colorado Springs nor the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

The Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management and the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will only contact property owners who have expressed an interest in participating in the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and have provided their contact information to one of these entities. They will not request any type of payment. The Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will not contact homeowners directly regarding grant programs.

People receiving these calls should contact the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov/complaint. To expedite their complaint, victims are encouraged to report it to the FTC rather than contact the police department. The police department will only investigate this type of activity if the victim has actually paid money. If a victim has actually lost money to this scam please report it to CSPD’s non-emergency number at (719) 444-7000 or online at www.coloradosprings.gov. New Disaster Recovery Center Open in Colorado Springs

A new El Paso County Disaster Recovery Center in Colorado Springs opens for six days beginning Monday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, and closes permanently on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., MST, Monday through Saturday, Nov. 16, when it closes permanently.

DRCs are operated by the Colorado Office of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), county and local governments.

Representatives from FEMA and the SBA are among the agencies represented at each DRC to explain assistance programs and help survivors apply for disaster aid.

Survivors with disaster losses will save time by registering with FEMA before going to a DRC.

Register with FEMA by phone, 800-621-3362, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., MST, seven days a week. Multilingual phone operators are available on the FEMA Helpline. Choose Option 2 for Spanish and Option 3 for other languages. People who have a speech disability or are deaf or hard of hearing may call (TTY) 800-462-7585; users of 711 or Video Relay Service can call 800-621-3362.
