There are three scholarships and grants that are available to HazMat and Emergency responders, some of which can be used for attending conferences, support training and assist with educational expenses. Please forward this information to whomever you feel could use it.

Offers three scholarship/grant opportunities; one each for leadership, HazMat, and EMS. The HazMat scholarship is the Chief Eversole Endowment. The web site offers more information on the three scholarships and the YLD foundation. The application information is on the web site as well. Although the application is geared towards a scholarship, a person or a team could apply for the funds to be used for a conference or other training event.

There will be a minimum of one $5,000 (USD) grant for one hazardous materials response team (maximum of five members) to register for specialized training at one national hazardous materials conference each year. A team must submit a letter the application to the committee addressing the qualifications noted above and stating their achievements in these areas. The letter should include the names of all team members and information on the conference they wish to attend.

Deadline 1-2 months prior to IAFC HazMat Conference
