Basic Public Information Officer (G290) and Joint Information System/Center Planning (G291) Course


The three day course is intended for Public Information Officers (PIO). The G290 class emphasizes the basic skills and knowledge needed for emergency management public information activities or as a refresher. Mock interviews will be videotaped. 

The G291 class applies the skills gained in the PIO class to expanding incidents where coordination is enhanced through the establishment of a Joint Information System (JIS)/Joint Information Center (JIC).
