FULL CLOSURE OF I-25 IN DENVER FOR PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

DENVER— The countdown to the 2012 Presidential Debate and the full closure of I-25 in Denver has begun.Six miles of Interstate 25 will be closed in both directions from the Santa Fe Drive (US 85) interchange to the Hampden Avenue (US 285) interchange from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. All closures, dates and times are subject to change.

 

University Boulevard between Evans Avenue and Louisiana Avenue will be closed from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

 

Buchtel Boulevard from Franklin Street to University Boulevard is closed with local eastbound access to High Street.

 

There are numerous ways for motorists to pass through the city and detour routes are posted on I-25, but delays can be expected throughout the transportation system. The key is to plan ahead to avoid major delays. To view maps of the closure and detour routes, please visit www.cotrip.org.
