The Colorado Mitigation and Recovery Task Force is a partnership, coordinated by the state's Division of Emergency Management, which pulls together federal, state and local partners from the public, private sector and nongovernmental organizations to assist in recovery efforts following a large disaster. This page will serve as a coordination and information point for participating agency news/efforts, programs and assistance and links to support for incident information, residents, businesses and volunteer agencies associated with recovery from the Las Animas Earthquakes. A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was recorded by U.S. Geological Survey seismometers and located the epicenter approximately 9 miles (+/- 7.8 miles) WSW of Trinidad, Colorado at 11:46 pm MDT on August 22, 2011
